  6. Over the weedend I upgraded my system in the following way:-
  7.  
  8. (1) Hand patched MiNT 1.10 to upgrade the addroottimeout() from MiNT-net 0.3
  9.     to MiNT-net 0.41.
  10. (2) Upgraded my libraries to patchlevel 44.
  11.  
  12. Both these went fine.
  13.  
  14. (3) Upgraded from Minixfs 0.6 patchlevel 8 to patchlevel 10 using the
  15.     binary distribution from a.a.
  16.  
  17. Now I find that I can't compile anything on a Minix partition as I keep on
  18. getting the following error messages generated by Minixfs:-

  20. pid  64 (cc1):minixfs:Rwabs returned -36 sector 5785 drive D:
  21.  
  22. It not only affects drive D:, which is the second partition on the TT's
  23. internal 48MB SCSI drive but also all the other partitions on my external
  24. drive connected via the ACSI port.
  25.  
  26. It also doesn't matter which hard disk driver I use (I lie, the ICD driver
  27. causes even more errors).

  29. Hard disk drivers I use are:-
  30.  
  31.     AHDI v5.00 Dec 03 1991.
  32.     ICD version 5.4.2
  33.  
  34. On drive D: the sectors which appear all the time when I try to compile
  35. (with GCC 2.3.3) are (in order):-

  40.        61
  41.        75
  42.        10
  43.        56
  44.     18462
  45.     18464
  46.         2
  47.      8798
  48.        75
  49.         8
  50.        78

  54. Before and after this fsck says there is nothing wrong with the partition.

  56. The system I use is:-
  57.  
  58.     TT030 with 4MB ST-RAM and 4MB TT-RAM as supplied by Atari.
  59.     Seagate ST????N 48MB SCSI drive, as supplied with the machine.
  60.     TOS 3.05
  61.     External Seagate 84MB SCSI drive connected via ICD ACSI adaptor (Third
  62.         Coast Technologies box).

  64. The upshot of all this is that I have an unusable system as I only have one
  65. (very) small TOS partition which I use to boot from.
